The whole point

Have you ever just been
Happy to be existing
Like through the horrors
There’s this little corner
My own slice
Of grateful to be alive
Through the trenches
Still surrounded
But by good intentions this time
And I feel a little of the old fear
Like it’ll all disappear
If I’m too content
Snag the best moments
And mentally frame them
Cuz it’s just good here
If you told me through the years
I could handle it
And be supported
Cleansed from the ever gnawing
Discontent
I would shake my head
What a pipe dream
To have a porch and my baby
To make enough money
To have so much love
I no longer feel empty
No tendrils tracing venomously
Along the cracks
And I know every time
There’s another crisis
Around the corner
So tonight I just wanna hold here
While its all alive breathing clear
Like a spotlight lighting up all the luck
These times will be in
My last seven minutes
